Submit Your Volunteer Hours
GORC tracks volunteer hours. At every trail workday we count all the hours the volunteers work. This information is used to present land managers and agencies our "track record" for building and maintaining sustainable singletrack.
Volunteer hours are VERY important to us. Every time you, a GORC member, go out on the trail and remove debris, close a rogue "cheater" line or trim limbs, we need to know this. If you don't report it, we won't know about it and it can't be counted in our total yearly hours.
Here's some tips to consider:
--Drive time to and from the trailhead counts as volunteer hours if you are going to maintain/build trail.
--Your volunteer time doesn't have to occur on our official work days. Clearing debris, etc. on a typical ride counts as time. List your time as accurately as possible.
--Try to accurately report the date of the work performed.
--Describe what work you peformed. For example, "I removed storm debris from the DeClue trail at Greensfelder. It was on the section that goes near the rollercoasters. There's one large tree that will need to be sawed, however. "
Remember, if you don't tell us your volunteer hours there's no guarantee that your time will be counted in our reports.
