04/21/08 - The Midwest Mountain Bike Festival is Coming May 2-4

Some of you visited us for this event in 2007 and we'd like to make sure to extend the invitation again for 2008!
IMBA will be hosting the Advocacy Summit on May 2nd. This will include club care seminars, advocacy leadership round table discussions....and...of course... RIDING!!!
There will be tons more displays, games, food, BEER, movies, camping, and rides, Rides, RIDES!!!!
LIVE MUSIC returns for 2008!! 3 folksy, bluesy acts on the main stage... well it's the only stage... but you get the jist.
Trek, Specialized, Cannondale, Blue, Dakine, Skullcandy, Jamis, Kona, and MORE!!
Leinenkugel's will once again be providing adult beverages for the event... AND there will be a Midwest Premiere of the new Radical Films flick Cackle Factor!! On a huge inflatable screen...in HD!!

04/21/08 - What's New with GORC ...
Highlights from the April meeting...
The normal housekeeping items were discussed.
1. Make sure to report your hours on the board. Whether it is patrol or trailwork. Bryan keeps tabs and we report back to landmanagers.
2. We accept donations!!!!!
3. Project ideas/suggestions? A. Any ideas of how to boost attendance to the work days? We are going to have each trail steward make up flyers to spread to the massess. This was suggested in March and will become a reality soon.
Trips/Events/Rides
1. SCCP/GORC Beginner Ride Series: This is the 3rd year in a row that GORC has sponsored these rides. They run April thru October.
Will be @ Quail Ridge the second Wednesday of the month
Will be @ Bangert Island the fourth Wednesday of the month
Will be staffed by GORC's very own National Mountain Bike Patrol members
More details (times, maps to trails, meeting areas, bad weather, contact info. etc) will be posted on the forum
2. Midwest Mountain Bike Festival: This is the last write up before it happens!!!!!!!!!!
Midwest Mountain Bike Festival!!!!! This event is a blast. They have a great venue and a lot of activities. There is a rumor that Cranked 7 - The Cackle Factor is going to have its video premiere. There will be an IMBA presentation. There is camping available and a hotel closeish by.

GORC Trip 2008
The GORC posse is returning to Durango. (that is if they will let us back in) Trip dates are August 2-9. You need to set up your own condo/hotel. There will be a group discount for Ferringway Condos. http://www.ferringway.com 1-800-624-9714 mention GORC when reserving. Please post up here if you are planning on going, or if you have a group set up for a condo. The more condos rented the better the discount. So speak up.

02/13/08 - SIUE Gallery Updated
A small new gallery has been posted showing the progress of the new trail loop at SIUE. Be sure to come out on the 23rd to help finish the trail or it will have to wait till THIS FALL. We really could use your help at the next workday!
