What Else Is Going On?
The Wentzille VFW is coming to the Festival! They're going to provide lunch and dinner on Saturday. Lunch will be burgers, brats and dogs. Some terrific sidedishes, too. For dinner, they are going to be putting a big ole pig on a rotisserie. There will be delicious sidedishes as well. So you could say the Wentzille VFW is going whole hog this year for the Festival.
The Fit for Women Bike Demo Tour will be attending the Midwest Mountain Bike Festival (MMBF). Come learn from Olympian and World Champion Mountain Biker, Chrissy Redden (de Jonge). Their goal is to promote cycling to women in the form of education, proper bike fit, fun and the demo tour. Check out www.fitforwomentour.com for more details.
Also, the Trek Ride the Best Demo Tour is coming to the MMBF. They will be bringing a complete selection of mountain and road bikes for everyone to demo. For the list, check out their website www.ridethebesttour.com and look for our event on their schedule.
Friday: The Kona Bikes Advocacy Forum

Friday – The Kona Bicycles Advocacy Summit: Friday is all about trails and advocacy. We’ll have informative seminars for trail stewards, club leaders, trail crew leaders, and trail designers. We’ll also have the International Mountain Bicycling Association for a special presentation of IMBA and all of their national and international programs.
In addition to the informational sessions there will be a huge night ride that will burn memories in your skull for years to come.
Saturday: The Midwest Mountain Bike Festival - Let's have some fun!
Saturday The Festival – Saturday is the fun day. All day long we’ll have a festival atmosphere, with food, demos from several major bike companies, and organized rides on all of the trails, a huge raffle, and music provided by some local bands. Also Saturday night will feature night rides on local trails.
The Festival will be featuring even more bands this year! A few more may still be in the lineup so stay tuned. Here are the confirmed music makers:
<> The Monads (punk bluegrass rockabilly)
<> Red Ass Jones and the Gold Bondsmen (drunken traditional)
<> Maid*Rite (country folk rock)
<> Dub Kitchen (dub smoke reggae)
<> The Choir (balls-out rock and roll)
Sunday: The Epic Ride
Sunday – Sunday’s big event is the organized epic ride. We’ll cover 3 different trail systems, every kind of surface you can ride a bike on, and over 40 miles of riding. We’ll have aid stations along the way to fuel-up, as well as some optional stops at local watering holes for refreshments. The more the merrier. Shorter ride options can be done as well. There will be turn-offs.
Ride the 45+ mile St. Charles County Epic
Explore three different trail systems and cover some serious ground on the
bluffs of the Missouri River in Wine Country. GORC has worked with St. Charles
County Parks, The Missouri Department of Conservation, and the Missouri
DNR to establish an extensive network of trails in the area. Top it off
with a bike shop and a couple of taverns located at the mid-point, and you've
got the makings of a great epic ride.
