Build - Greensfelder - Trail Building Day 05-04-24

Date: Saturday, May 4, 2024 - 9am - 1pm

Location: Greensfelder Park

Build Plans: We will be constructing a new singletrack trail approximately 1 mile in length. It will connect the brand new Forby Road trailhead parking lot to the DeClue trail near the Arbors of Rockwood ridge line. This new trail will ascend about 200+ feet to reach the DeClue ridge. The trail will pass through cedar groves, open meadows and old-growth fields. This trail will be unlike any existing trail at Greensfelder due to the open meadows and generally sustained climb/descent consisting primarily of dirt with a few short sections of rocky terrain.

Directions: Park at the new Forby Road parking lot. Take Highway 109 to E. North Street for .5 miles. Continue straight on Forby Road. The road narrows and in about 2.5 miles you will see the new parking lot on your left just before the entrance to Camp Wyman.

What to bring: Gloves, Sturdy shoes, eye protection, and something to drink on the trail.

Lunch will be provided.
